Beskid Żywiecki and Babia Góra – the Queen of Beskidy Mountains

Beskid Żywiecki is the part of Western Carpathians. In fact the highest peaks of Beskidy Mountains — Babia Góra, Pilsko, Wielka Racza are located here. Roaming through the region you come across wild nature beech and spruce forest. Beskid Zywiecki region and Babia Gora — the Queen of Beskidy is rigorously protected — in 1954 Babiogorski National Park was created. The visit in Ethnographical Park of Oravian village in Zubrzyca Górna will top the hike. The museum of mountain tourism in Markowe Szczawiny will introduce history and culture of the region.

Itinerary: 15 May – 15 October

Day 1 arrival to Cracow (plane / train), transfer to a guest house

Day 2 transfer to Zwardon, Zwardoń — Wielka Racza (1236m) — PTTK Hostel <5h>

Day 3 Wielka Racza — Przegibek (990m) — Wielka Rycerzowa (1226m) — PTTK Hostel <5h>

Day 4 Wielka Rycerzowa — Ujsoły — Hala Lipowska (1323m) — PTTK Hostel <6h30’>

Day 5 Lipowska Meadow — Miziowa Meadow — PTTK Mountain Hotel <3h> walk up to Pilsko (1557m) <1h>

Day 6 Miziowa Meadow — Jaworzyna (1047m) — Jałowcowy Garb (1017m) — Markowe Szczawiny — PTTK Hostel <8h>

Day 7 Markowe Szczawiny — Babia Mountain (1725m) — Krowiarki Pass (1018m) <3h> A tour of Oravian

Ethnographic Park — Zubrzyca Górna, transfer to Cracow, Guest house

Day 8 Cracow guided tour (option for groups); transfer to the airport

Notes: due to have a guided tour of Cracow we suggest to have the return plane / train ticket reserved for the afternoon. It is also possible to buy an additional accommodation for the extra night in Cracow on 8 / 9 day of the tour.
